I was ill advised by the MM support AI bot to swap my Solana /Sol for USDC / Linea to ease the cost of conversion to FIAT USD $ and to facilitate a streamlined and seamless conversion.. Well, this was not the case, it cost me $75.00 and I am no nearer now to having my USDC / Linea converted to USD $ FIAT than I was with the Solana/Sol.. The difference now being only that I have $75.00 less to convert.. And the conciliation from MM that yes theAI Bot was incorrect, thanks for bringing this to our attention, wait, what?.. .. Yeah that’s right , MM Support made no mention of my lost $75.00 due to the bad advice given by their AI Bot..
So here I am starting to wonder how something as hideous as Cryptocom .can actually start to appear attractive. Anyway I digress.. I suppose all I need understand at this point is how come when I now try to convert or swap USDC/Linea back to /Solana/Sol or any other swap I am advised
Hello @jimm I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Could you please confirm which dapps did you try to swap linea USDC to Sol? Could you share a screenshot please
“Sell” is handled on the portfolio dapp. (https://portfolio.metamask.io - if youre on mobile, you’ll want to use the in-app browser. Chrome/etc on mobile dont pass the connection requests correctly.
SOL isnt supported by Sell at the moment, but USDC on Linea is.
There are some limitations on regions, but that should allow you to sell your USDC for Fiat.
Chatting with the tooling team so we can review the conversation to ensure the bots accuracy, and improve the quality of its responses. I’m guessing it wasn’t technically wrong, (accurate that we dont support selling SOL directly, so swapping to USDC is one option) but im also betting its response could have been a clearer and more helpful on the other avail options. Another option is an exchange. If you choose an exchange, make sure they support your region, the token/coin, and the network before you send your assets. It can result in funds loss if the token, network, and region arent supported.
Another option might be the MetaMask card. USDC on Linea can be spent in stores with touch to pay, and online. (there’s an option for a physical card as well) Its only avail in select regions at the moment, but if you’re in a supported region its pretty handy and has some pretty good perks. https://card.metamask.io (avail in: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the European Union, Mexico, and the United Kingdom)
Did you ever reach a person in support? if so, the conversation ID will help us find the conversation with the bot more quickly. We ask people not to post any personal details publicly, like a conversationID. Contact support, but tell the bot you need to speak with an agent. Be pushy if you need to, you wont hurt its feelings. It’ll give a button to speak with an agent.
