Connecting to DAPP - Terminology

I’m looking at using my account to connect to a "connect.collab.land " address and I’m looking for clarification on terminology, I have found an old reddit answer & github post by DanFinlay stating that Initiate Transactions means "Initiate just means propose them to you. This does not mean it will be able to perform transactions without your permission. " with the github being Correct connection language by danfinlay · Pull Request #13605 · MetaMask/metamask-extension · GitHub, this was 2 years ago and both my phone and firefox extension either say “Intiate transactions” or “suggest transactions to approve”.

So im just asking for clarity that this does infact grant no permision to add/withdraw tokens without my prior consent. I have read this post from 16d ago; Wallet permission "initiate transaction", but the answer and associated articles linked don’t answer my question. I know im likely being overprotective here, but i’d rather be safe the scammed. Thanks

HI!

Which one is showing “initiate transactions” vs “suggest transactions to approve” (on same site)?

Initiate transactions Initiate just means propose them to you. This does not mean it will be able to perform transactions without your permission.

You do want to be very careful and clear of what you are signing, it’s good you care, move slow, and ask  so this post is welcomed.
