When you want to initiate a transaction, MetaMask automatically calculates and shows you the network fee, so you don’t need to know exactly how much ETH you need in advance.

Hey there..can you tell us also on which network you’re trying to do the transaction (network matters because the token used for gas can differ depending on the network)…and also the reason i ask is, because depending on the network you’re using, you may also be able to use MetaMasks gas included transactions, which allow you to pay the network fee using another eligible token instead of the network’s native token…and this is where this feature is explained in detail: How to use gas included transactions | MetaMask Help Center
