Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a UX suggestion that I think would help a lot of MetaMask users, especially people who are new to self-custody.

When you have multiple transactions pending, it can be really confusing to figure out which one is actually blocking the rest. The transaction that needs attention is often the oldest one, but the “Speed up” option may only appear for the newest transaction. If the oldest pending transaction can’t be canceled or sped up from the Activity tab, users can end up stuck, frustrated, and unsure whether their funds are safe.

I’d love to see MetaMask add:

  1. A clear indicator of which pending transaction is blocking the nonce queue.

  2. Nonce visibility for each pending transaction.

  3. “Speed up” and “Cancel” options for any pending transaction, especially the oldest one.

  4. A short, plain-English explanation of nonce gaps and why they matter.

  5. A warning before a user creates a nonce gap.

Why this matters: self-custody is already a big responsibility. A confusing pending queue can make people think something is broken or that their funds are lost. Better visibility and control would reduce stress and support requests.

I know similar things have been discussed before, but I wanted to consolidate the idea. If you’ve dealt with this, what was your experience? And if anyone from the MetaMask team sees this, is this something that’s on the roadmap?
