Description:
Since ENS is already built into the MetaMask extension code, why not also use it to show the domain and avatar (if the user wants) instead of the default identicon?
There are a few stale PRs for the ENS domain, but none for the avatar. So, I wrote a (pretty horrible for now) PoC to check if it is feasible, and it indeed is.
I can create a PR for this if this idea is nice, do let me know.
Purpose:
Making the identicon more customisable and also allowing people to share the ENS domain instead of just the address.
