Proactive Phising filter on connect

Description: When connecting to a website, check the app url (url at the top of the connection screen) matches the url that I am currently on. In the case of the screenshot im logging into ottopia.app and the url is something different (both not Uniswap but the mismatch would at least alert me something is wrong)

Purpose: Prevents obvious phishing. I go to uniswap semi-often and expect that connect screen to come up and dont think twice. The feature would be good for someone like me and a newer crypto user.

Extension/Mobile/Both: Both

Thank you for your feedback. I checked these two websites and both gave security warnings.

ottopia.app and gctcway .com/u-dapp/

Can you tell me: when you first tried to enter the URL, were you trying to connect to Uniswap? In other words, did you initially enter the Uniswap URL, and then it redirected you to these two different URLs?

It was neither, it was a paid ad that was setup to look like Uniswap on Google

Oh yes, I understand. Thank you for the info  Yes, you should always be careful of scam links. Sometimes you may unintentionally end up on an incorrect URL that closely resembles the dApp you intend to use. It is important to double-check the URL several times before connecting your wallet or interacting with the site

… yeah Ill make sure to do that… pretty par for the course from any company, “we advise all of ur users to take safety precautions so we dont need to build features that help mitigate”… Yeah I got got, thats fine, I went on with my day, but the sheer “you shoul have do this” and “make sure you do that” is one of the reason crypto will always been seens as a scam… Do I double check urls when I sign on with google for a site I go on every couple months, no, do you, probably not, so why is this an acceptable response?
