I have tried restoring my 12 word seed passphrase BUT after entering in the words it comes up with the message ‘invalid seedphrase’.

If you receive that message then it’s very likely that the phrase you have is misspelled or has one or more than 1 word not placed in the right chronological order, you need to enter the correct seed phrase, in the right order, with no capitalization, with spaces in between and there must be no space before the first word and after the last word.
