Sorry to hear about that. I’m afraid the funds may be gone. Once a transaction becomes confirmed on the blockchain, it can’t be reversed any longer, because blockchain transactions are immutable.
However, If this is a significant amount, you may consider contacting Tether to see if there is something they can do about it.

Under normal circumstances, there’s nothing that can be done because blockchain transactions are irreversible. However, in your case, since you sent the funds to the USDT smart contract address, it’s best to contact USDT support. They should be able to help because Tether controls that smart contract.
The only one who can help is Tether support.

Like theweb3dave and Khaled already explained, reaching out to Tether is the right way, i’ll just guide you a bit further…
According to their knowledge base “Recovery requests for amounts exceeding $1000 will be accepted..” so if thats the case, you should definitely get in touch with them, even though they mention this $1k as minimum, i would still personally give it a try..for your safety im going to guide you to the correct form for it, not just give you direct link, so that way, you can be certain you’re doing it the right way…anyhow start with tether official X account (its “tether”, but verify), in the bio you have 2 links, one ends with .io one with .to, go to second link, on it at the bottom you will find “Knowledge Base”, there search for “Tether tokens Recovery” this is where you find all the information about it, and when you get to “To submit a request for recovery, you will need to contact “Tether Support”” clicking that "Tether Support "will take you to their contact page, and just pick “Token Recoveries” to get to the actual form for it…hope this helps..
