Description: I have a wallet (Conio) working only on BTC chain. Is it possible send BTC to MetaMask directly? Can somebody explain me how can I do this? Is it enough to copy BTC address between the ones given by MetaMask? I send in attachment the image of MetaMask chain
Hi, you need to make sure that, that wallet from which you want to send BTC to MetaMask, supports Bitcoin addresses that start with bc1q, which is the standard for Native Segwit. You will always need to do your own research, to make sure you do things correctly, before you go ahead and do so.
First test with a smaller amount and if all is ok, successful, then you can transfer the rest of the amount you want to transfer. Don’t forget to dyor, before doing anything else.
As Chinzilla said, be sure the wallet you’re sending from supports Native SegWit, and test with a small transfer first. BTC transactions can take longer to finalize compared to EVM transactions, up to many minutes rather than a few seconds on EVM.
