Is it normal that MetaMask desktop browser extension (in Chrome, Brave, Edge) takes several seconds to open everytime I click on the extension icon? Also for every transaction, it takes several seconds before the extension window finally pops up. This makes using MetaMask slow and annoying. Is this just happening on my system or is this normal?

I have been having this problem for years (and reported it before) and MetaMask browser extension updates automatically right? I often get these “what’s new” screens when I open the extension and unlock, so it is updating.
By the way, where can I see what the latest version number of MetaMask is? I have this problem in 3 different browser. I can’t believe I’m the only one experiencing this.
By default yes, but automatic updates can also be turned off.

Click the large blue “start a conversation” bubble in the upper middle of page, looks like this:
- This will connect you to a bot at first, answer some questions and it will open a ticket for you with an agent.
Remember - NOBODY, including from support, will ask for your secret recovery phrase or for you to input it onto any website for confirmation.
