MetaMask keeps opening a login tab every time I open Chrome

Hi everybody, since yesterday, every time I run my browser (Chrome v. 134.0.6998.178 on Win 11) MetaMask opens automatically a tab with Login request. It’s like when you log in to the extension but it’s on an entire tab. MetaMask version is 12.14.2 and last night and tonight I connected to try to check if maybe it had updated and changed somemething in the configuration. So far I didn’t find anything and it keeps popping up.

I seriously doubt I got some malware because I haven’t used MetaMask in months before last night. I didn’t interact with any app over the past 2 months for sure.

How do I stop this thing?

chrome-extension://nkbihfbeogaeaoehlefnkodbefgpgknn/home.html#unlock ← when it pops out I have this in the address of the tab. Notice I NEVER logged in from this tab but I did it only from the app. How do I eliminate this problem?

Exactly the same problem, also look here, no solution yet. Also look at Reddit, Google " Chrome automatically opens MetaMask tab at launch."

I’ve opened a ticket with MetaMask staff… I’m not sure it was opened right because their bot doesn’t work properly (I hate AI, most of them are useless). I hope they solve the issue!

This is a known issue. The new upcoming update 12.15.0 will fix this. Thank you for sharing.
There’s also a new Chrome version you can upgrade to.
