Metamask screwed up - Bring back the manual Network selection Drop down Box

Description: Why on earth did MetaMask remove the Manual Network Selection drop-down feature? Did it not occur to them that there are more than one network and customers used the manual network selection drop down to pick one network to see the assets under it. Now we have to tick/untick networks and all that nonsense.

Purpose: User friendly navigation of networks and restore some basic common sense that is missing from MetaMask developers.

Extension/Mobile/Both: Extension mainly, but all versions should have it

At the meantime, please see below:

  1. You can add/remove networks all together under the “enabled networks” drop down

  2. If you want to switch networks for a dapp, click on the global icon which has the connection status for the current dapp and then you click on the active network to change it. Check out this video how: https://x.com/MidwitMilhouse/status/1956101571437088835

  3. If you want to view assets for a specific network, you can do that in the asset view like shown here: https://x.com/MidwitMilhouse/status/1956676569969180946

Having them merge together is just a good way to have people send thing over the wrong chain. The network selector is bad, real bad.

Did you even read my feature request? I don’t want to add remove networks all together, I simply want a drop down to select a network and pick the network and list only the assets under it. Not rocket science is it?

I created an account here only to say that this change is so utterly nonsensitcal. Why not give people the choice of how to display the networks, like previously? Why FORCE me to use this utterly convoluted system, that needs MORE clicks to do the same thing than previously?

Previously, I would click the list, and click on the network I want to be on. 2 clicks. Now I have to click on the list, click on the network, then deselect the netnwork I am currently on. How has no UX designer over at your company told you “this is bad, don’t do this, it worsens the UX and quality of life of people”?

Give us back the choice for crying out loud.

Hey everyone totally agree that removing the manual network-selection drop-down makes things harder than they used to be. It used to be simple: click, pick network, see your assets there. Now there are extra steps and toggles just to view the network you want.
