Coin total increasing instead of fiat amount

Hi there,

I’m quite new to MetaMask and I just purchased a coin through the Binance Smart Chain Mainnet. I just found out that for some smaller coins the fiat balance might not appear due to the coins not having a clear price on coingecko. One thing that I however find a bit weird is that instead of now having a fiat balance that increases the amount of the coin that I purchased keeps increasing. This means that I had 3200 of the coin and now I already have 3202 and it keeps going up. I think this is happening because there is no fiat balance and there has to be a way to show that my coin is increasing. What I don’t understand is how this works. Usually when I buy for example 1 ETH I keep this 1 ETH and its price keeps going up, meaning my 1 ETH increases in value. This time its only my coin total increasing, so can anyone please explain the logic behind this?

Thanks in advance!

hmmm, that doesn’t make sense. If you check on bscscan.com, is the amount of those tokens changing in your account? is it the same amount that MetaMask shows?

Just figured out that I get a certain percentage in staking rewards, hence why it’s slowly going up. Still a little bummed out about the fact that I can’t see my fiat, but I guess I’ll just have to deal with that for the time being.

Thanks so much for your reply though, appreciate the help!

We’ll be able to support price feeds on custom networks in the future. :slightly_smiling_face:
