I moved GUSD from Gemini to my Metamask wallet but it is not showing up. I clicked “Add Token” but it is now just permanently showing “Loading Tokens”. I restarted the browser as well.
Do you need to have ETH in your Metamask wallet already for gas fees in order to accept a transfer?

It could be due to a few reasons:
Please try reinstalling the app, make sure you have all the backups before proceeding: seed phrase, private keys(for any imported accounts).
For each old account that you had in your original installation, you must add it by “creating” a new account (click on "create account).
If the token you are looking for is not found using the Search method, then you will need to add it as a Custom Token.
