Duplicate wallet on import

Recently (haven’t used MM in a while) opened MM and noticed I had 3 accounts showing.

My #1 account is my regular account with my seed phrase - all is fine
#2 account is imported using a private key. But after importing with this private key, there are 2 of this same account showing. If I remove one, the other one disappears too. Using the MM extension on Brave.
Thinking it is a Brave Browser issue, I recovered (from seed phrase) my #1 account and imported my #2 account - but same thing with #2 account listing twice.

Any thoughts??

Make sure that both the browser and your MetaMask wallet are the latest versions and try it again.

Everything is up to date on Brave & MM.
I also did a fresh install of the MM extension on Firefox and had the same issue.

I’ve elevated the issue and hopefully can get a resolution soon.
