Same issue for me. I did reset the wallet, now it is giving me the new address with no asset. How do I retrieve my asset which I had originally?
To get your MM address, you could look at the transaction history from whatever other exchange or wallet you used to send the funds to MM in the first place. For instance, Binance will have a withdrawal history and show the address where the ETH or whatever was sent. Unfortunately, it seems that even with the address and 12-seed phase, the glitch persists.
Hi, in my case my metamask is freezing after the update… cant do any transactions… when i see it in settings its written " your current IPFS gateway is down… cant do anytransfer since 2 days ago. afraid to uninstall and put my seed phrase… because of commented loss coins in wallet… can anyone help? much appreciated…

I’ve had the same issue. Deleted the app and reinstalled this morning and now I can’t find my original wallet and assets. Is there anyway to talk directly to the developers about getting this fixed?
So, same case for me. TheApp is still installed and Face ID regognizes me but the login does not happen. I forgot my passwort (because auf Face ID is on and have not used it for month. I can’t find my seed either…
Is there a chance face ID will work again without the need of the passwort?
Similar issue for me too. And I only use my iphone.
Recognizes my Touch ID but keeps asking for password which I don’t remember bc i stopped using it.
Is there a way to accept again the Touch ID?

Same issue with Android app… No seed phrase unfortunately so is there a chance we can use vault recovery on mobiles in the near future or thats it ?
I am using Samsung Galaxy. The fingerprint function does not logging on, when entering correct password it says:

Sorry for the password lock surprise. Unfortunately, causing this password-lock was an unavoidable side-effect of upgrading the security of our software deployment pipeline. We’ve filed issues with Apple, but we had to make the hard decision to accept this one-time password lock in exchange for improved security for all users present and future.
To prepare for this transition, over the past month all mobile users were shown a notice that there would be a password lock coming, and so this was a good time to ensure you had either your password OR your secret recovery phrase handy. We already require all users to back up their secret recovery phrase on setup because without it you are just one dropped phone away from account loss, so this seemed like an acceptable assumption to make for users. With your secret recovery phrase, you will be able to restore your accounts on any MetaMask instance, as well as many other BIP-44 compatible wallets.
I see a few other people here having various other recovery related issues. The basic rule of thumb is “as long as you’ve kept your secret recovery phrase safe, you can regain access to your accounts”. You can try restoring your accounts on a second computer to check that it works before deleting the app, but usually the “Forgot my password” button will also work fine to restore your accounts with it.

If i tap “reset wallet” am I correct in thinking that all my assets will be erased from the phone? Is there any possible way an update can be pushed to accept the FaceID token? I have been unsuccessful in restoring from recovery phrase, must have fat fingered something as its not taking.
Seems as many other people have suggested, the password is not taking correctly as well.

I understand that there was a warning about an upcoming password lock however there seems to be an issue with people (myself included) not seeing their tokens after logging back in with seed phrase. For me account1 is a different number than my original account with my tokens on them. How do we get access to the original account? I have created around 50 subsequent accounts within my metamask hoping the old account would pop up but that has not worked. Please help us!
HI Dan - Thank you for your work on this. I can confirm the good and a bad:
- As you suggested, I was able to install MetaMask on CHROME on a computer that did not originally have my MetaMask wallet on it, use my SEED PHRASE to install/recall my wallet, (it is still intact, with all the relevant tokens, etc) . I then also updated my password.
- I can also confirm that even with updating the password, the iOS app will not respond with the new password entry. It simply continues to say “invalid password”, although I am able to get in and out of my Chorme account with that password.
- I am very hesitant to delete my iOS app, as I don’t want it to disturb anything regarding the overall wallet as users are mentioning they are having trouble once they delete their app, or if they try to reinstall the wallet with their seed phrase.
It would be great if the MetaMask team need to do a double-check on the routing that if a user has been locked out of their account, that even though I can access it via Chorme, the iOS app is not working appropriately even with an updated password. At least for me. I have purposefully not attempted the SEED PHRASE as I am hesitant to do that.
