I know there are several topics on NFT and ERC-20 tokens that do not automatically show up in Metamask (or even Uniswap) and the solution is to add them as a custom token.
But I would like to understand WHY some tokens automatically show up while others must be imported.
Is there anything that must/can be done by the developers of an ERC-20/721/1155 to have the tokens automatically show up on Metamask?
Do the tokens show up when meeting certain criteria? (e.g. verified collection/creator on Opensea for a 721/1155 or having a liquidity pool/certain number of transactions for an ERC-20).
It’s good that custom tokens don’t add automatically.

you can detect custom token automatic

I see the automatic detection option on the main net but it is not available on testnets.
I am asking this because I am learning solidity and blockchain dev at the moment
What is the actual technical difference between a custom token and a token that is detected in Metamask then?
Also for NTFs, some NFTs I bought on Opensea show automatically and others don’t.
I think this is because some creators are verified while others aren’t.
My question is: what is the technical difference between them?
